Whether fascinating birdlife or gorgeous scenery, the Pacific Northwest is Amanda Houston's inspiration. Creating beauty in both oils and pastels, Amanda enjoys demonstrating the relationships of color, composition and texture in her paintings. She revels in the beauty that surrounds us in the Northwest, and as an impressionist, is drawn especially to the moment when light is most dramatic. Light... caught in the iridescence of a Rufous Hummingbird... in the final rays of sunset glancing across the sky... in intense colors of summer shadows... and in the diffuse cool light of a winter day. This theme runs through her paintings in this show, and we invite you to come and see this beauty for yourself.
