Originally from Holland, Cary Jurriaans’ new show theme is "The Dutch Table” which features gorgeous still life paintings filled with luminous glass, exquisite silver and brass, detailed ceramics, and the bounty of the table. From the simple beauty of a freshly peeled orange to sliced lemons and ruby red pomegranate, Cary paints with masterful detail.

Describing her thoughts about this show, Cary asks: "Do you think beauty is in the eye of the beholder? No, it's deep in our minds. It's a gift handed down from the intelligent skills and rich emotional lives of our most ancient ancestors. Our powerful reaction to images, to the expression of emotion in art, to the beauty of music, to the night sky and it will be with us and our descendants for as long as the human race exists, I hope."

Kim plays with light filtering through trees, reflective ponds, and stunning skies. She also has a handful of tiny, delightful animal and bird paintings, as she captures the spirit of these little creatures in their native surroundings.

Always delightful, Michelle Waldele’s new show “A Gathering of Friends” is a magical collection of whimsical still life and imaginative animals and birds as they commune.  With her subjects ranging from animated toys, animals in snowy forests, to an owl surrounded by fireflies at night and more, her lively paintings are simply enchanting.

Describing the inspiration for her show, Michelle writes:  "In the past I dreamed about living somewhere out in the country with miles around me to wander and explore in solitude. Coming home to a cozy home with a magical tiny cottage as a studio, my idea of heaven. As an introvert, I relish quiet and independence, but the pandemic taught me something.  Connection with loved ones is as essential as the air we breathe.  We are not meant to be separate and alone.  A visit with my adult children keeps me young and excited about life.  Coffee with my husband in the morning is a wonderful beginning to the day. Lunch with a friend is rejuvenating and helps me to feel connected to the world. These paintings celebrate connections of all kinds, friends, family and the strangers out and about who offer a smile and a good morning."

We are delighted to present our first feature show with Linda Wilder "Tactile Expressions"! With her initial offering in June, her contemporary expressionism captured the hearts of our collectors and with 12 brand new pieces, we are thrilled with her collection. Describing her inspiration for the show Linda states:

"I enjoy the pull between the real and imagined and try to bridge the gap.  I’m very tactile and I love texture, resulting in subtle abstractions, while also playing with light and color to create mood. Being an intuitive and energetic painter, I aim for a more emotional and expressive response; this process allows me more freedom to be creative."

August 4, 2021 - August 30, 2021

We are delighted to present a brand new show from one of our contemporary expressionists, Jed Dorsey! With his bold brushstrokes and fresh perspective, Jed Dorsey captures life and its beauty all around us. From quiet moments in time and simple vistas that uplift our spirits, Jed wants his viewers to the beauty of the season upon us.  He states:

"Summer is my favorite time of the year. I love warm weather and long days. I love being outside. I love adventures to new places, hikes on new mountains, and walks on new streets. And I also love the variation we can get through a misty morning or an overcast day, when the heat is subdued and refreshment comes on the breeze. These are the thoughts behind this collection of paintings".

Angela Bandurka's new collection reflects her musings over the past year, from missing the random people who are usually in our lives to honoring and valuing the moments of connection that can be found in the simplest of circumstances for us all. Angela's highly skilled abilities as a figurative and portrait artist shine in this show as we are drawn into the lives and personalities of those around us. Describing her inspiration, she sates:

This collection is inspired by the extended isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are many things I miss acutely but also many silver linings that I've discovered during this time, and those silver linings are what I'm pouring into this show. Looking through the images that I have gathered over the last few years, I was struck by the moments of connection that can be found in any socio-economic group and in the simplest of circumstances for us all. The following categories make up the images for this show, Love: people connecting with other people, with beloved pets, with colleagues; Self-engagement: learning a new skill or hobby, connecting with yourself in a real way by exploring your ability to learn and grow; and Citizenship: society coming together with a common goal, learning from our past, and trying to improve our understanding of each other for the betterment of all.

Nationally renowned watercolorist Ron Stocke brings a collection of paintings featuring people in places we love. From Seattle to Paris to Progue and beyond, Ron's paintings tell the stories of people connecting with one another in cities full of life and beauty. Describing his thoughts about this show he states:

Looking back at the past year I cannot help but be reminded of the absence of strangers. These random people that come in and out of our lives every day, some going out of their way to help us or be helped by us, others just doing their jobs so that we can get home to our loved ones and yet others just sharing eye contact before disappearing into the crowd.

I have always been interested in meeting and talking to strangers. By keeping an open mind and staying curious I have learned so much about different cultures and what makes people tick. So, here’s to the strangers that come in and out of our lives the ones that stay and the ones that pass by. You never know what will happen by simply striking up a conversation with a stranger they may become the people you love the most. After all, my wife was once a stranger.
